It’s really the unseen benefits of getting strong that make me so passionate about helping others. The improved energy and confidence in oneself, the physical and mental resilience built and the feeling of empowerment to say YES to adventure.
I moved to BC from New Zealand in 2017 with the hope of chasing a little adventure. Little did I know that I’d find an entirely new career and sense of purpose. I started coaching team sports as a teenager and that progressed into CrossFit and Powerlifting. Through that, I noticed the lack of knowledge and care around exercise and pregnancy, pelvic floor dysfunction and return to sport postpartum. I then made it my mission to engage with people at this time of their lives in order to help them gain confidence, strength and connection to their bodies - to be happier and feel empowered to live more functional and movement diverse lives. I created beSTRONG Training to provide a personalized approach to strength and exercise - offering personal training, customized at home programming and holistic support primarily to clients who are pregnant, postpartum, peri and postmenopausal as well as those seeking guidance and accountability in their health and wellness goals. And now beSTRONG Training is operating across BC from Squamish all the way to the Tri-Cities! My love for this community and work is ever growing and has also led me to work on completing my labor and postpartum Doula certifications to further expand my knowledge, scope and ability to work with people through pregnancy and beyond. Outside of working with clients, I absolutely love living close to the mountains in Squamish, BC. You’ll find me here at the local powerlifting gym, hiking or riding my mountain bike in sun, rain and snow!
