Pelvic Health, TVIC, Biopsychosocial Model of Care
I love living this complicated, messy and joyful life! I have a passion for the human body and the lived human experience. I love when people feel empowered to take back agency in their bodies and move in the world in ways that are meaningful to them.
I moved to BC in 2009 to complete my Master’s of Physical Therapy at UBC in 2012 and felt instantly connected to this place and lifestyle that the Pacific Northwest can allow. I’ve had the pleasure of working in a diversity of healthcare settings where I have seen how challenging it can be to navigate our current healthcare system, how hard it is to work towards preventative healthcare and the importance of being included in decision making around your own healthcare choices. My work in pelvic health began in 2015 and it has rooted me more deeply in the intersection of my interest in the human body and providing care that considers healthcare inequities and social justice. I believe in healthcare that considers your unique experience in your body and that listening and communication skills are some of the most critical tools healthcare providers have as we walk along side you in your health. My clinical interests are ever evolving but I love connecting people with their body sensations and address care for your WHOLE body. I currently work with a particular interest in supporting preventative pelvic health and management of symptoms in prenatal and post partum clients, peri and post menopause, persistent pelvic pain conditions and trans health. Outside of my clinical practice, I am a passionate educator and advocate for healthcare change. I love connecting with the earth and my body. You can find me running (literally) around town and getting feet into doors I didn’t know I could open.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY
Jodie is one of the most compassionate health care providers I have ever encountered. I had to bring my 7 year old to one visit and he had a ton of questions about where babies came from --- and she took the time to show him pictures and explain things to him in a way he could understand. But really she's a magic worker --- after seven years of incontinence related to birth injury and complications, and after dr's and bladder classes, she was the one who worked with me and my body in order to troubleshoot appropriately. Pelvic floor PT is not just kegels ---- it's ALOT more than that, and she has quite a few tricks up her sleeve. She is generous with her time and really loves what she does --- and that makes a huge difference these days.
Bonus points for being LGBT Friendly and Body Positive/Accessibility Aware.
